MARRIAGE RECOGNITION CERTIFICATES from Bishop Vasquez will once again be offered to couples who celebrated a milestone anniversary (10 years or more) during the year 2024. The certificates will be available for anniversaries in five-year increments (e.g. 10, 15, 20, 25 etc.)  The certificates will be presented on the weekend of World Marriage Day (February 8/9). The couples to be recognized must be in a valid marriage in good standing with the church, regularly attend Mass, and be registered members of the parish. What is a valid marriage? This means you were married in a Catholic church or if you were married outside the church, you obtained the necessary dispensation. 

If you would like to obtain a certificate signed by Bishop Vasquez, please fill out the “Marriage Recognition” form that can be found in the church Narthex or on the parish website under the ‘About’ tab. Please return the form in the collection basket or to the church office no later than Monday, Feb. 3^rd. We cannot make any exceptions to this deadline.

Also, if you were married by a justice of the peace and would like to have your marriage validated or blessed by the church so that you can get a certificate in the future and more importantly receive Holy Communion, please call the church office (512-259-3126) as soon as possible to help get the process started.

LOS CERTIFICADOS DE RECONOCIMIENTO DE MATRIMONIO del Obispo Vásquez se ofrecerán de nuevo a las parejas que hayan celebrado un aniversario histórico (de 10 años o más) durante el año 2024. Los certificados estarán disponibles para los aniversarios en incrementos de cada cinco años (por ejemplo, 10, 15, 20, 25 etc.). Los certificados se entregarán el fin de semana del Día Mundial del Matrimonio (8/9 de febrero). Las parejas que serán reconocidas deben estar en un matrimonio válido y en buen estado con la iglesia, asistir regularmente a misa, y ser miembros registrados de la parroquia. ¿Qué es un matrimonio valido? Esto significa que se casaron en una iglesia Católica o si se casaron fuera de la iglesia, que consiguieron la dispensa necesaria. 

Si desea obtener un certificado firmado por el Obispo Vásquez, por favor, rellene el formulario de "Reconocimiento de Matrimonio" que se puede encontrar en el Narthex de la iglesia o en la página web de la parroquia bajo la pestaña 'About'. Por favor entregue el formulario en la canasta de la colecta o en la oficina a más tardar el lunes 3 de febrero.  No será posible hacer excepciones a este plazo. 

Además, si usted se casó por el civil o se encuentra en una unión libre y le gustaría tener su matrimonio bendecido por la iglesia, para que pueda obtener un certificado en el futuro y sobre todo poder recibir la Sagrada Comunión, por favor llame a la oficina (512-259-3126) de la iglesia tan pronto como sea posible para iniciar el proceso.
